Our Care Services Include

Long Term Care:

Abbey Court offers the optimum in care for residents who can no longer care for themselves. Our skilled team of staff work towards providing the best in patient care in a homely environment. Our team are supported by Optometrists, Podiatrists, Physiotherapists and Dentists to ensure the physical well being of the residents is maintained and where possible improved upon.

Short Term Care:

In conjunction with our Long Term Care we also provide respite and convalescent care. This service is to cater for those recovering from illness, recently discharged from hospital and for families who simply need a break. Short Term care can mean anything from a number of days to a number of weeks depending on preference. Residents on Short Term care benefit from all the facilities open to Long Term care residents.

Day Care:

Day Care is a service we can provide for families who simply require a daytime break. From as little as one day per week your next of kin can reside in the home receiving all meals and care provided to our Long and Short Term residents.

Palliative Care

We work closely with the GP’s and District Nurses to ensure that anyone approaching end of life is not moved to another facility or hospital unless it is absolutely necessary. The management team have a long history of providing the highest standards of palliative care to residents and supporting their relatives/loved ones through this most difficult time. We can arrange overnight facilities for relatives.

Respite Care

We understand how difficult it can be for families or friends providing ongoing care. For this reason it’s important to occasionally find time for yourself. Our respite care services provide a crucial break for carers, either for a few hours, or for overnight stays over a few days or weeks. Respite care offers family carers the chance to do daily chores, or simply have some well-earned time off. We also provide convalescent care, to help people who need to recuperate after a hospital stay and to support them to be well enough to go home.

Dementia Care

We provide specialist dementia care in our care facility. We understand the specific challenges faced by people living with dementia – our teams are able to provide professional and compassionate support for both our residents and their loved ones.

Family Events

Families are welcome to attend any events we orgaise within the community or day trips. We will let you know in advance of planned events and will be glad to see you attend. Our events will be varied, whether it’s an afternoon of visiting animals to a full on broadway style show on a Saturday night. We will ensure that regular events are discussed and agreed with residents each time.
